Although not all authors opt to sell their books on Kindle, this blog post provides a solution for Kindle owners who are eager to read a particular book that isn’t available for purchase on the platform. You’ll learn a method to transfer the book to your Kindle, enabling you to read it on your device.
1. Amazon offers a convenient solution known as the “Send to Kindle” page, allowing users to effortlessly upload ebook files from their devices. You can visit amazon.ca/sendtokindle or amazon.com/sendtokindle to do this. This tool is compatible with a wide range of formats including PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM, HTML, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP, and EPUB and it can handle ebooks up to 200MB in size (it is important to mention that Amazon no longer allows the sending of new Mobi files). When the process finishes, you will notice a checkmark and a notification stating that the item is now in the library.
2. Once the status has changed to In library, you’ll want to send the ebook(s) to your kindle by delivering it to the kindle app so you can view like a regular ebook.
3. The transfer to your Kindle shouldn’t take much time, and once the ebook is there, you can read it directly on your Kindle or any device with the Kindle App.
4. Amazon also offers an app for both Windows and macOS, allowing you to perform the same tasks. They also have a Chrome extension, although its effectiveness varies.
There are alternative methods for transferring an ebook to your kindle. Nonetheless, these few approaches have proven to be relatively user-friendly in obtaining some of my favorite books that were not available on Kindle.
